The purpose of the Media Centre at the London Stock Exchange is to provide journalists with broadcast and media facilities in a branded environment at the heart of London’s financial district. It has been estimated that in its first three months of operations, the media exposure of the Stock Exchange name, if bought as commercial airtime, would amount to half a million pounds and that its success as a brand space has been proved. But it is its success in creating more effective ways of working that is significant. The centre includes a number of presentation environments for film crews, each incorporating interactive video screens and live data feeds that can be specially conjured using an innovative back projection system.
