Jiangsu Entrance Pavilion

We were commissioned to design an entrance sequence and welcome experience for a new theme park in China. The centre piece of the approach routes, entrance plaza and arrival plaza is a 2000 sq.m gateway building with a gigantic immersive AV transitional grand atrium.

 

We created the I.P. storyline for the experience, designed all facades and interior spaces and devised all of the show sequences for the “Ocean World” theme park entrance.

 

To enter the park’s Discovery Islands guests must pass through the Ocean World entrance that guards it. Gigantic sculptural and animatronic fantastical sea creatures lead the way to Ocean World, 90 meter long whale canopies shade guests and welcome buildings whilst two enormous Giant Squid along with a plethora of other exotic animals guard the entrance itself. Guests entering can pick up supplies for their adventure as they pass through the gateway building.

 

Inside the Ocean World guests meet the Guardians of Discovery Islands. The Guardian creatures tell of the adventures ahead and guide guests through an awe-inspiring vortex portal which carries them to the surface and the magical realm of Discovery Islands.

 

On the other side of the immersive vortex guests find themselves on dry land greeted by the Ark of Life, the vessel that brought animals to these magical islands long ago. The Guardians invite the guests to explore Discovery Islands and immerse themselves within the wonders of the natural world.
