Daimumah, Alula
Client: R.C.U.
From the Arabic word for 'sustainability', Daimumah weaves together art, nature, and heritage in the scenic and serene heart of the Oasis.
The area has been cultivated for millennia, and today it remains lush and fertile with sustainable farming at its core. The site is still actively farmed and shaded palm groves and fields are at the core of the guest experience. The site’s long history is evidenced in the dramatic remains of wells, qanats and mud brick dwellings through which visitors can wander.
There is plenty to do with a cafe, a restaurant, art installations and exhibitions, craft workshops and heritage trails, as well as places to relax and picnic and for children to play and learn.
Working with KCA and Avesta Group new were responsible for developing 3d, graphic and interpretive design throughout the park and masterplanning routes and locations to support the narratives and guest experiences.
The production of the scheme was ably delivered by Craft International to a very challenging timescale.
